Day 38: Light
In the beginning there was darkness, and darkness was over the surface of the deep. Then came forth the light, bursting in splendor. Through the light, all things were made; without it nothing was made that has been made. In that light was life, and that life was the love of ages. Love came into the world, but the world did not receive the light. And so the light called you by name, and found a home in you. In you there is love that outshines every source of light. It has the power to pierce hatred, and burn away the evil that plagues this world. Love so powerful, it transforms you. And all you have to do is reside in this love, as it resides in you. The sun may shine with a thousand rays, but even the sun will end. Only endless love can be your salvation. Love gives life to all things, love heals. It is love that restores what was broken, the fullness of love makes you whole. Love never dies, it outlives all things and breathes all things. Though the darkness came first, it will all end with love’s true light. The light shines in the darkness, and darkness has not overcome it.
